Capital of the State of Goiás, is located 126 miles from Brasília. Like Brasília, Goiânia is a new
city, built in 1933. The progressive nature of its inhabitants has given the city a modern university,
museums, theaters, cinemas, art galleries, fine hotels and an efficient system of urban
transportation.The city is perhaps best known for its wide, tree-lined avenues. Noteworthy points of interest include the Mutuama Park educational center, the zoological gardens located in the northern part of the city and the automobile race track.
