The population of Brazil is around 180 million, making it the fifth most populous country in the world. Of this, about 55 percent is white (Portuguese, German, Italian, etc), 38 percent of mixed white and black descent and 6 percent black, with "others" (including Amerindian) accounting for a mere 1 percent.
